SEWER SUBMETER APPLICATION

THE PROPERTY OWNER REQUESTS APPROVAL FOR SEWER SUBMETER BILLING AND AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Specify the proposed location and size of the new submeter

• Fully state the purpose for which the submeter will record consumption

• Pay all SPU fees for each submeter

• Provide plans showing existing and proposed on-property water and submeter plumbing

• Install only a submeter that registers in cubic feet and an Encoder Receiver/Transmitter that is compatible with SPU automated meter reading requirements

• Request inspection of the submeter installation by SPU • Maintain, repair or replace the submeter to ensure accuracy

• Provide calibration results to SPU upon request •

Ensure proper operation of meter, wiring, ERT and other appurtenances

• Review bill for proper deductions and contact SPU immediately if discrepancy is identified

SEATTLE PUBLIC UTILITIES WILL:

• Upon change of use or change of occupancy, bill sewer charges on all water delivered without regard to installed submeters

• Require equipment upgrades or changes at the customer’s expense in order to stay current with SPU metering requirements and meter reading technology

• Not give back credit for consumption registered while any part of customer owned equipment is malfunctioning
